Does the publisher tell you the odds?
Yes, partially — the most transparent of the three. FFG's launch 'Booster Pack Breakdown' article published odds charts (with the caveat 'these odds assume perfect distribution, and the actual odds may vary slightly'); community sites transcribed them as: foil 1:1 pack, Legendary 1:8 packs, Hyperspace variant 2:3 packs, Hyperspace Rare/Legendary 1:15 packs, foil Hyperspace Rare/Legendary 1:50 packs, Showcase 1:288 packs. FFG's official 2026 article 'A Shift from What Was' states non-foil Prestige at 'about 1 in every 18 booster packs' and serialized Prestige print runs of 250/100/50 copies.
Star Wars Unlimited
Guaranteed slots: Leader + Base + 1 Rare/Legendary + 1 foil in every pack; from 'A Lawless Time' (Mar 2026) every pack also guarantees at least 1 Hyperspace card and 1 Hyperspace-foil card
2026 structural shift (official, effective with 'A Lawless Time'): black-border foils removed; Hyperspace/Hyperspace-foil drop rates increased across all rarities; ~1:18 packs contains a non-foil Prestige variant. Separate premium 'Carbonite Edition' boosters: every card is special (foil/Hyperspace/Showcase/Prestige), incl. a guaranteed non-foil Prestige per pack, ~4+ Hyperspace cards, 6 Hyperspace-foils, 1 Hyperspace/Showcase leader; Showcase leader rates in Carbonite were 'significantly dialed back' vs the prior premium product.
Confidence is part of the data: a low-confidence range is an honest answer, a precise-looking number without a basis is not.
